The Art of Repainting Home In Nigeria

Whenever, we think of changing the face of our homes, churches, schools, commercial buildings by repainting, but evaluating the costs of doing this might be very scary in nature. Especially, when paint specialists over estimate the cost of such work. It is generally good to give a facelift to most buildings in our environments with painting new building or repainting the existing ones, particularly in Nigeria, where the climatic conditions are not friendly.

When planning to repaint buildings, there are some factors that need to be considered and they are as follow:-

Types of Buildings:

Most private buildings such as residential houses and small business premises are mostly supervised by the owners with actual calculating the costs of materials and other inputs needed for such work. In this case, it is easier to minimize the various costs that go into the art of repainting existing ones or painting new ones as the case may be. Here, it is good for the owner to estimate the amount to be expended on the job. Most home-owners and small business-owners are always on the good side with closing deals with either the paint specialists or other experts to work on such jobs. This is simply because, they are dealing with individual paint specialists, and the houses are privately owned. In Nigeria, it is very easier to see bad paint specialists buying sub-standard materials for the repainting or short-change the owner of such work. Most competent specialists are rare to come by. This is because, they will charge higher for their services and buying the right paint inputs is another major task of these good ones.
On the other hand, large edifices are being constructed and owned by net-worth individuals and government agencies through firms who handle large jobs. Most government buildings fall under this class. The cost of either painting or repainting these edifices is astronomically high. This is due to the fact that, time is always being delayed for due diligence and other factors which are outside the control of any trained paint specialists. Generally, work on edifices is generally slower and there are huge costs involved. These edifices might spend years to be completed and its cost of completion is enormous.

Costs of Repaint:

For private or residential homes in Nigeria, it is easy to reduce the cost of repainting through effective bargaining systems with the paint professionals. But, for edifices such as government buildings, it is often hard to actually determine the total costs of repainting such buildings. Here, some of wastage are experienced and most qualified paint professionals are painting firms whose fees are extremely exorbitant in nature.

Human Errors:

Human errors are often experienced and it is very essential to safeguard against this by all means possible. These errors can be expected from both parties involved. They come in form of mistakes in the sealing the deals under considerations, the paint inputs are not fully supplied, the paint specialist do not carry out his work on site and so on.
